Adele Live in London with Matt Lauer (or simply Adele Live in London) is a television special starring Adele originally set to premiere June 5, 2012 8 P.M. EST on NBC, although this was later changed to Sunday, June 3, 2012.[1] According to a statement from Sony Music Entertainment, Adele sits down for an exclusive interview with newscaster Matt Lauer to talk about the incredible success of her record-breaking album, 21, and how it has changed her life.[2] It included performances from her successful concert film, Live at the Royal Albert Hall.

The program drew 6.2 million viewers on June 3, 2012 and ranked #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox (1.7/5 million in 18-49). It also caused 21 to return to number-one for a twenty-fourth non-consecutive week and increased Adele's albums sales by 30%.[3]

Description from NBC website

Eight-time Grammy Award-winning singer and musical phenomenon Adele performs live from her hometown in her first-ever network spectacular featuring an exclusive sit-down with Matt Lauer.

In the one-hour event, Adele recaps the amazing year that followed the release of her sophomore album, "21." The special also features, for the first time on network television, six performances from the singer's Adele Live at The Royal Albert Hall, including hit songs "Someone Like You" and "Rolling in the Deep."

Named as Billboard's and iTunes' "Artist of the Year," Adele has been featured as one of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People," and Entertainment Weekly's "Entertainers of the Year." Her latest CD, 21 has sold over 22 million copies worldwide to date and was the #1 Album of 2011 and #1 best-selling digital album of all time. Adele is only the second artist in Grammy history to have won The Recording Academy's top three categories, "Record of the Year," "Album of the Year" and "Song of the Year," while also possessing a "Best New Artist" Grammy. In 2012, Adele swept the Grammy Awards, winning each of the six Grammys she was nominated for, including: Record of the Year ("Rolling in the Deep"), Album of the Year (21), Song of the Year ("Rolling in the Deep"), Best Pop Solo Performance ("Someone Like You"), Best Pop Vocal Album (21), and Best Short Form Music Video ("Rolling in the Deep").
