"Promise This" is a song originally recorded by Cheryl Cole and featured on her second studio album Messy Little Raindrops. Adele covered it on Radio 1 Live Lounge. [1] When Adele talked about the song before performing it, she talked about Cheryl Cole:

This may have been inspiration for her performing the song.
