Get excited. She's back, bitches.
Yup, Adele is scheduled to be appearing on The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles. The TV special, scheduled to appear on Foxtel in February (although it could get pushed up to coincide with the Grammys in January) will include covers of songs by The Beatles, performed by today's biggest stars. While many are excited to see Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, and George's wife Olivia Harrison, appear on the show, we all know who is going to steal the spotlight: None other than Adele.
Adele will be paying tribute to the Beatles along with some of the other biggest artists at the moment, including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, P!nk, Justin Timberlake, and Bruno Mars. In 2011, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Adele supposedly revealed that she wanted to cover The Beatles' song "Blackbird" at one point, so it is very likely that will be the song that she will perform. In 2009, she also covered "Baby It's You", a song recorded by The Beatles that was originally written by Burt Bacharach (who Adele performed the song with).
The other exciting thing about this is if she is back in the spotlight by then, then her fans' speculation (although no sources have even hinted at this yet) that Adele may perform the lead single from her third studio album at the Grammy Awards in 2014 may be true. The Awards are being broadcasted earlier than usual and are expected to take place on January 26, 2013. Adele will most likely appear, being that "Skyfall" was submitted by her record label for possible nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Being that Adele is highly favored by the Grammy committee, she is expected to be nominated for at least one award.
Anyways... We can't wait to hear from Adele again and we are very excited to see her appearing on this special!
Update: I would also like to note that we have recently gotten more information to support the last paragraph's statement that Adele will be at the Grammys. Supposedly, someone affiliated with the show revealed that the show would be filmed the day after the Grammys, which would also give the artists at the Grammys an excuse to stay an extra day. It is almost guaranteed that Adele will be at the Grammys. Keep on praying that she debuts her new single before the Grammys and then does her debut performance at the Grammys!
