My apologies for reporting on this so late; I was out of town for a few days and when I returned, I had a lot to catch up on. But I'm back now and I have some exciting news for Adele fans. Paul Epworth, Dan Wilson, and Ryan Tedder—all of which worked on 21—will be returning for Adele's upcoming third studio album, titled 25. Tedder had previously confirmed that he would be on the album, and Adele revealed at the Grammy Awards in 2013 that Epworth was the first one she had approached about her new album, but this is pretty much the first confirmation that Dan Wilson (who co-wrote "Someone Like You") would be returning. This news comes directly from Hits Daily Double, who also confirmed that Adele's third album was titled 25 and would be released on November 20 this year.
They have further confirmed that Tobias Jesso Jr. has songs that made the album's final cut, as expected, and that Adele also recruited pop producers Greg Kurstin and Jeff Bhasker for the new record. This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, as Max Martin also has music on Adele's new record. Although this has left some fans concerned, Kurstin, Bhasker, and Martin have all worked with the likes of P!nk, reassuring fans that Adele's top priority is still the quality of the music. Jesse Shatkin, who produced Sia's Adele-penned track "Alive," also confirmed that he had worked with Adele on her new album, but that their collaborations would most likely not make the album's final cut.
And, in other news... If there was any doubt that Adele is releasing an album titled 25 on November 20, there shouldn't be now. Roger Friedman, the same journalist that confirmed Adele recorded "Skyfall" before anyone else knew, confirmed via Twitter this exact news. He is also reporting that we will get what sounds like official confirmation from her or her team in the coming weeks. I would imagine that, with the lead single slated for an early November release, we will have an announcement by the end of the month.
So, with all this news coming out about new Adele music, how excited are you guys? Are you ready for Adele's return? Sound off in the comments below!
