Hello everyone! Yesterday, September 1st, was the two-year anniversary of the Adele Wiki. Yes, it has already been two years. It seems so unlikely. I am still in shock of how well the Wiki has done, and how far it has come. I am so proud of it and honestly, it has helped to shape me as a person in many ways. Being the creator and head administrator of this Wiki has helped to strengthen my passion for Adele’s music, as well as my experience in an authoritative position. The Adele Wiki is the only Wiki that I have founded and been able to follow through with, after abandoning the Titanic Wiki and the Battle: Los Angeles Wiki for personal reasons and due to time constraints and a lack of interest in the Wikis and their topics. I have to say, though, while I abandoned them and also gave up my administrative position on the Gremlins Wiki, I never – not even for a second – considered giving up on the Adele Wiki or considered abandoning it. Never in a million years. This Wiki is so important to me for so many reasons and I am so grateful to have the support of the Wiki’s loyal contributors.
There are so many people that I want to thank. First of all, even though most of them probably will not see this, I want to thank the users of James Cameron’s Avatar Wiki because I got my start over there in 2010. True, I was probably very irritating on that Wiki at times due to my lack of experience, but I learned a lot there and I made a lot of friends on that Wiki that will not easily be forgotten. I do not edit as often on the Wiki anymore, but I promise that I will never stop editing on it as long as I am a member of Wikia. The community that has grown over at that Wiki is so great and they’ve all been very supportive and understanding of my decision to start the Adele Wiki, even though it meant not editing on their Wiki as much. I stop in from time to time to visit them, and I do honestly feel guilty that I cannot edit more, but I am so grateful to have learned so much from the experienced editors on that Wiki and to have gained not only experience from them, but also friendship.
I also want to thank all my fellow administrators – current and former. In the past year, we have lost a few administrators – specifically, New Captain and ArianaGrandeForever, who unfortunately had to resign for various reasons. They have continued to be a part of the Wiki despite resigning – while New Captain does not appear on the Wiki very often, ArianaGrandeForever has continued to visit and will continue to. I appreciate their help; even though you guys had to resign, I respect that and I know that you guys will do great things with your lives. I am so proud of how far the Wiki has come with your help. I also wanted to thank Roxyme, a current administrator who does not come on as often anymore but is still part of the Adele Wiki community. She has done so much to help and we would not be the same without her, either. The most important member of the Adele Wiki community for me to thank, though, is the most active administrator other than myself, someone who has helped the community in so many ways that I can’t even begin to express my thanks for him… Ichinaru19. You are so amazing and we are so blessed to have you as part of the Wiki’s community. Most of the Adele news I find and post is not from me…. Usually, it’s from Ichinaru19, who is amazing at finding information about Adele and little tidbits of news through his amazing skills when it comes to the usage of Google (lol), as well as his participation in various music forums. Ichinaru19 is such a positive influence on the Wiki and he is truly a pleasure to work with. I am so lucky to have him around, so… Thank you. I also want to thank all the other contributors to the Wiki. You guys are amazing. You have made this Wiki incredibly successful and a pleasure to work with. Thank you guys so much! I also want to thank Wikia for obvious reasons, and Tim Van Der Kuil (Adele’s guitarist) for the special interview and for being such an amazing guy and so humble and so generous to us. Everyone who has ever helped out on the Wiki, even if I haven’t named you specifically, you are amazing and I appreciate your help and support so much.
There is one special person that I really, really want to thank from the bottom of my heart, though….. Adele. Thank you so much for being such an inspiration. I have so many personal reasons for being a fan of yours and I can’t even begin to explain why. You are truly a beautiful and amazingly talented woman and you are perfect in every way. I cannot wait for your third album. My life would be incomplete without you, and listening to your music inspired me in so many ways – not just to create this website either. It also inspired me to want to chase after my dreams of being a famous musician after I kind of abandoned those dreams. I would write a long “thank you” letter to you, specifically, but it would probably be never-ending. I cannot thank you enough for being such an inspiration to me in every way imaginable. I hope that you come back to the music world very soon; your fans miss you so much, but take as long as you need to write the next record and make your comeback – we will all be waiting for you, and even if it doesn’t come out for another 20 years, we… or I, at least… will still be supporting you no matter what. Thank you.
I just want to thank everyone who made this Wiki possible and to say that I am so grateful to be a part of Wikia since 2010. This Wiki has been around for two years and is still continuing to grow. I’ve received so much support from my family and friends as well as the contributors on the Wiki throughout the Wiki’s two-year-run, and even though eventually, one day, I will have to let it go, I do not plan on doing that anytime soon. This Wiki is immensely important to me and I don’t even know what else I can say but… Thank you. You guys are amazing. Unfortunately, there will not be any special festivities this year for the anniversary of the Wiki, but don’t worry – we will have plenty of surprises for later in the year – including possible Halloween festivities next month and the continuation of our Christmas With Adele feature. Hopefully, we will be promoting Adele’s third album (rumored to be out by mid-2014), but even if it is not, we will have plenty in store in the remainder of 2013 and all of 2014. Thanks again for all your support.
