Adele Wiki

So... Remember when Wiz Khalifa kind of confirmed on multiple occasions that he and Adele had collaborated on his upcoming studio album, Blacc Hollywood? Well... He kind of denied that they ever collaborated today, making him the second rapper to lie about having Adele on an album in order to create hype for it. In 2013, rapper Big Sean hinted at the collaboration following reports that they had worked together due to a comment made by Trinidad James claiming that Adele would be appearing on Big Sean's latest album, which proved to be false. Despite the disappointment we may have, I think it's safe to assume that most Daydreamers will also be breathing a sigh of relief because... Let's face it. Adele's comeback song should NOT have been a collaboration with an unprofessional rapper such as Wiz Khalifa. And if all goes well, we won't have to wait much longer for new music from her anyways, as she confirmed via Twitter earlier in the month that her third studio album, 25, will be out later this year.

In the meantime, let's discuss Wiz Khalifa backtracking on his previous comments made about a collaboration between the two. In 2013, he confirmed he had songs with both Adele and Miley Cyrus on the album, and while he has recently confirmed Cyrus will appear on the album, the songs that he claimed he and Adele worked on together were never even recorded. This is only one of three false claims that they were working on the album. Khalifa later addressed the collaborations in two other interviews. He specifically stated how the collaboration(s) with Adele came to be in an exclusive interview with Skee Live seen below (it starts at about the 48-second mark):

He further confirmed the collaborations in a radio interview earlier this year.

So, what's with all this backtracking then? Today, an article published by Rap-Up confirmed that Khalifa and Adele never recorded anything, and that the collaboration was simply an "idea". Well... So much for that collaboration!

Regardless of all the mystery surrounding Adele's supposed work with Khalifa, it is safe to say that we will hear new music from her soon, with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic (who previously worked with her on both "Rumour Has It" and "Turning Tables") will be returning to the studio to work with her again on her latest studio album, despite previously confirming in October of 2013 that he had finished his work with her on the album. He also revealed on the red carpet of the Billboard Music Awards that he was unaware of her cryptic Tweet supposedly confirming the album title and release date, although he hinted that they had a deadline to follow, hinting that the album could be nearing completion. Adele is a smart woman and knows that if she keeps us waiting much longer, we might go crazy, so hopefully we'll hear new music from her soon!
