Wanda Lavonne Jackson (born October 20, 1937) is an American singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist who had success in the mid-1950s and 1960s as one of the first popular female rockabilly singers and a pioneering rock and roll artist. She is known to many as the "Queen of Rockabilly" (or "First Lady of Rockabilly").
Jackson served as an opener for Adele during the second North American leg of her 2011 tour. Adele has stated that Jackson's music heavily influenced 21. She has referred to Jackson's song "Funnel of Love" as one of her favorite songs on various occasions, and even covered the song during a performance at Xfm Manchester in 2011. She further told Jackson that had she not heard "Funnel of Love," she may not have ever written "Rolling in the Deep."
