Template:Infobox Song "You'll Never See Me Again" is a song written by Adele and Fraser T. Smith for Adele's sophomore album, 21. The song was produced by Smith. It was cut from 21 for unknown reasons, although many Adele fans believe that it was cut becuse it was deemed too similar to "Set Fire to the Rain"; it has even been noted by some fans that its piano instrumentals are almost identical to those of "Set Fire to the Rain" at some points during the song.

On August 31, 2014, a snippet of the song leaked online. [1] It was the first anyone had heard of new music from Adele since she released "Skyfall" in 2012. Some believed that the song would be included on her upcoming third studio album, however, it was later confirmed that it was one of the three songs Adele wrote with Fraser T. Smith for 21 and would most likely not be used for the next album. The following day, September 1, the entire song leaked onto the Internet, along with "Never Gonna Leave You" (another song Adele completed with Fraser T. Smith) and the demo of "Set Fire to the Rain".

The song was included on a promo CD that featured the three songs Smith completed with Adele for 21, although the CD (given the title Fraser T. Smith Sessions) is supposedly owned by XL Recordings. The CD included "You'll Never See Me Again", "Set Fire to the Rain", and another new track, "Never Gonna Leave You". [2] Despite the song being a cut from 21, many fans have stated their belief in the theory that, being that XL Recordings is in possession of the CD the track was originally recorded on, they were the only ones that could have leaked the song and may have done so in order to gain hype for Adele's next album.

The song only appears on Fraser T. Smith's BMI because Adele is incorrectly credited as "Adele Watkins" on it. [3]

Promotion

Despite the song being cut from 21 (and therefore never officially released by Adele), "You'll Never See Me Again" received some radio airplay in Greece upon leaking in full. [4]

Lyrics

In the darkness of my heart
Is a shadow of your face
From the deepest part of my regret
I hear the words I wish I'd said

At the dawning of the day
I can barely see the light
I make up memories in my head
They help to fill the emptiness you've left

I can't drown in your tears
I won't face your fears
I need to find my own

You'll never see me again
I'll be better in time
Let the waste take me under
I know I'll survive
You'll never see me again

At the dawning of the day
I can barely see the light
I make up memories in my head
They help to fill the emptiness you've left

I can't drown in your tears
I won't face your fears
I need to find my own

You'll never see me again
I'll be better in time
Let the waste take me under
I know I'll survive

Let the floor beneath me fall
Let the sky come crashing down
Turn all my right to wrong
But after you life goes on
You'll never see me again

I've been learning to live
Without you now
It's taking all my strength
But I'm stronger now

You'll never see me again
I'll be better in time
Let the waste take me under
I know I'll survive

Let the floor beneath me fall
Let the sky come crashing down
Turn all my right to wrong
But after you life goes on
You'll never see me again

You'll never see me again

You'll never see me again
